Twelve-year-old Nanning lives on the picturesque German island of Amrum, where he helps his family hunt seals, fish, and farm. But their idyllic life is shattered when his mother, a supporter of the Nazi party, hears of Hitler&#8217;s death and sinks into a depression, refusing to eat anything but white bread, butter, and honey. To obtain these hard-to-find foods, Nanning must navigate the chaos of the post-war period to find his own way.   <\/p>\n<p>Directed by Fatih Akin (Head-On, The Edge of Heaven), Amrum \u2013 The Last Days of War Through the Eyes of a Child is a moving, historical coming-of-age story based on screenwriter Hark Bohm&#8217;s own war experiences.
